During our recent holiday to England we stayed in a Holiday Inn located in Hammersmith. I was familiar with Hammersmith as an area already however I didn’t know much more than that. On Google Maps it looked well positioned for us to get into the centre of London without having the higher prices.
We were only a 10 minute walk from Hammersmith station, along a straight road with a couple pubs, shops and outdoor stall vendors.
Generally I would say as a location it is very convenient, however the vibe on the street is definitely on the rough side. At night it might feel a little bit scary walking alone.
Something we didn’t consider when booking the Holiday Inn was the distance from the Hotel to Heathrow airport. It ended up being very convenient! Only 40-50 minutes and one single train which took us straight into Terminal 5.
We made a new friend while staying at the hotel. Seems Holiday Inn is one of the few hotels which allows cats! While relaxing in the lobby area we noticed. A strange shape dash out from under our table. Seems this cat had made it his den under our table while we weren’t looking!
He gave us a short sniff and probably decided we weren’t much interest because he quickly moved on and explored the remained of the lobby area and entertained the other families and business people.
